That's not the Bobber it's the new Speedmaster. It's just the single seat version. And yes, it does feel like I'm sitting on a BMX bike. That's why I wanted people to see the pictures. If you're tall this may not be the bike for you. I love the Bobbers, especially the new black version without the apes, but I just don't fit on them. Anything more than 30 minutes and I'd be cramping up. The Speedmaster version that is their "touring" version seemed to fit better. That's the one in the top photo. I'm not sure why there's a size difference. Might be the way they have the seating set up. The top bike had a seat very similar to the LT. The bottom one had more of a Bobber type seat. Either way I will say that Triumph has definitely stepped up their game on fit and finish. I don't know if the paint will hold up better but the bikes are very well put together and everything is well hidden and tight. Very, very nice looking bikes. You will be impressed when you see them in person. And sometimes it sucks being taller.

Edit: Added photo from Triumph of the Speedmaster line. The two bikes I sat on were the one on the left and the one in the middle. The middle one is the one that looks like a kids size bike with me on it. You can see it's clearly lower than the other two. Must be the Speedmaster Low or something.

It's the "Back in Black" tour. They're travelling around the US with the different bikes. They did it last year for the Bobber introduction as well. Here's a link to their site with the different cities and dates down the left hand side. Link They're doing this now instead of doing the Progressive Motorcycle Shows. Change in marketing direction.

That middle one stands a bit upright. Looks like a good belch would blow it over!

Thank you, looks like they have one for Orlando Triumph ????? I'll look into that , I don't think Triumph has a dealer in Orlando or Daytona any more.

Or a sidewind on the interstate. ...humor's healthy.

But seriously, for me one concern would be bike weight. Sure it may be nimble around town for some but on the interstate a heavier bike is more controllable imo, either hitting an obstacle or compensating for an 18 wheeler vacuum as it passes. ...I experienced this riding my Bonneville America to Sturgis.

Yes sorry , I didn't mean the Bobber model, just the bobber version of the Speedie, if that makes any sense.

I am about the same height so all of the new models are too small, if I wanted to still ride a half size bike I went get my 1972 CB500 out of mothballs because it is about the same feel.

Ah, that makes sense. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I'm not sure that I've seen what Triumph is calling the three different configurations. They didn't have the model with the leather stitched seat there. Just the other two. They had two versions of the Bobber, one with mini-apes and one with normal bars.

Oh she'd love either the Bobber or the smaller Speedmaster. They would fit her perfectly. There was a guy at the event that was around 5' 6" trying out the new Tiger 800 as I was standing right next to it. I thought for sure he was going to drop it when he sat on it. I actually turned to catch the bike as it started to lean my way. He was barely tip toeing that thing. Don't get her one of those. Ha.

Saw it in the flesh today. Great looking and better in real life than the pics.
On the other hand there were no Triumph cruisers at the show and the TBird is being stopped. The bloke couldn't say much but he said they didn't have much luck with the LT and commander and said they are pulling the TBird range but it will be replaced with a new brand. I explained that it would be nice if they gave us some heads up on future models (like Norton is doing) so people don't wonder off to other manufacturers. He agreed and as he worked at head office he would put that point across.

Good to hear about the Speedmaster, I've seen a few reports with most stating it looks great in person with a quality build. The rep response of the Tbird being replaced with another model sounds like he has no idea. Unless he mentioned another cruiser model ?

same here,i saw it in the flesh at Sydney Motorcycle show on Friday, and it does look much better in the flesh.
They had a rocket 3 and a Storm on the floor, to fill the space i suppose, also the new tiger range.
sounds like the next new model to be released will be a Daytona 765

FFS, I would have thought the idea of keeping your customer base informed of future models would be simple common sense ( CDF we used to call it in the Navy, Common Dog Fuck!!), I have lost count on the number of Tbird owners who are thinking of leaving the brand due to the lack of communication from Triumph.

On another note, I was at my local dealer yesterday, out front was a 2014 Tbird, with 183kms on the clock. It had just arrived, as I was contemplating it a ute rolled up and loaded it, sold through one of their other branches!!! That tells me the demand is still there in Australia anyway.

Well it's Triumph in true form...keep you guessing. I think it's safe to say the notion of Speedmaster replacing the Thunderbird has evaporated. The new Bonnie caters to different needs, it's not an established cruiser per se.

????? Um, yeah, I have never even considered or mentioned the idea of the Speedy replacing the Tbird.

Right. I meant in general, some may think this is the answer to a new cruiser.
